Here are some samples of programs I have done.
I can also tailor a program to fit your needs. I am
available for Full Day Sessions, Half Day Sessions,
Individual Assemblies, Workshops for students and
adults, and Week Long Residencies.
Characters
and Critters:
Tall tales with an encounter with an animal identified with the
West. You will meet a Bear, a Cougar and a Rattlesnake,
each with their own interesting personality. Best of all, you
will meet the men and women who have to deal with those
personalities.
"Western" Folk Tales
Traditional Folk Tales that have been moved into
the West
and "rejiggered" for Western humor and enjoyment. Jack
ended his days on the high plains of Wyoming. Cowboys
and cowgirls find magic and pots of gold. And folks live
"happily ever after" in the West as well.
"Bandits,
Bad Guys and Bunglers"
A colorful look at some of the West's Outlaws.
True (mostly)
tales of those who chose to ride the wrong side of the law.
Butch Cassidy and Big Nose George, Harry Longabaugh
(Sundance Kid) and Harvey Logan (Kid Curry) are a few of
the characters who made their living riding and robbing the
West in the late 1800's. Ride on some of their best and
worst days as you listen to these stories.
"A Tapestry of Family Stories"
With a handmade quilt as a back drop, John Beach will
relate stories discovered in his family's search of their
heritage. Each quilt block represents one or more stories
from the joint history of John and his wife Judy's families.
Stories of faith and strength, humorous events and sad
times are all part of the program. Travel back with John
as he gives the audience glimpses of real persons who
helped settle the Western United States.
